Working Together

My experience includes working both with adults and young people, in different mental health organisations and substance abuse organisations across North Somerset and also more recently in  schools and GP practices as a school and youth counsellor.

I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of adult clients, with problems including anxiety, loss, relationship struggles, work related stress, depression, addiction, low self-esteem and anger.Through professional and personal experience I have a special interest in;

  • Carer's experience and needs
  • The transition of women's lives and menopause
  • Family relationships
  • Social anxiety

My professional work has always been focused upon supporting peoples' psychological health and encouraging change which feeds their personal sense of well being. I enjoy working with young people helping them to explore their  problems in a gentle and non judgemental way using a helpful mix of artistic medium and CBT  to unlock and help them make sense of their feelings. Experience includes;

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • bullying
  • self harm
  • suicidal feelings
  • academic pressure
  • relationships
  • low self-esteem
  • bereavement
  • Self identification

Finding the right therapist is important for you. As a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, I abide by a code of ethics which means I am committed to working in a safe, ethical and confidential way. However, feeling comfortable with and understood by your therapist is also important. There will be an initial free consultation to see if you would like to work with a counsellor and I am also happy to have a free preliminary telephone conversation or answer any questions by email.
